Design file guide
Eight checks before you send a file. A clean file means a faster quote and fewer changes.
- 1
Work at real size in millimetres
Set your units to mm and draw at the size you want the finished part.
- 2
Close the outlines
Every shape to be cut out must be a closed path, with no gaps.
- 3
Convert text to curves
Text should be outlined so the font cannot change on another computer.
- 4
Delete duplicates
Two lines on top of each other get cut twice. Remove overlaps.
- 5
Separate cut and engrave
Use one colour or layer for cutting (we suggest red) and another for engraving (black). Remove fills from cut-only parts.
- 6
Keep details realistic
Narrow bridges and tiny holes can break or burn out. Keep thin features at least as wide as the material is thick.
- 7
Plan letter centres
The centres of O, A, B and D fall out. Use a stencil style or ask us to add bridges.
- 8
Send a good format
DXF and SVG are best. AI, CDR and vector PDF also work. PNG and JPG are fine for engraving or as a reference.

We reply on WhatsApp. A cut file, a sketch or a photo is enough to start.
